The Fairfax Art League Gallery, operated by the Fairfax Art League is located in the heart of Old Town Fairfax. Situated on the corner of Main Street and University Drive, it is convenient for both locals and visitors to the area.
Historic Old Town Hall, dating from 1900, provides a picturesque setting for the Fairfax Art League Gallery. Nearby are restaurants, shops and boutiques and the county courthouse.
The Fairfax Art League Gallery is a members' cooperative gallery representing over 100 local artists. One of the artists will greet you on your visit and, if you are lucky, you may find an artist or group of artists at work.
Here you will find original art in traditional oils, watercolors, pastels, photographs, collage, assemblage, and mixed media. From miniature works to large-scale pieces, there is something here for everyone.
Exhibits change monthly with special shows held twice a year. The Holiday Fine Arts Exhibit features small works and, in April, a judged show is held in conjunction with the City's "Spotlight on the Arts". Receptions are held monthly at which the public is invited to view the new works and to vote on their favorite piece. The artist receiving the most votes receives a People's Choice Award.
