Artist Salem Hosny was born and lived in Cairo, Egypt. He graduated from the Faculty of Applied Arts – Cairo, Egypt, 1948. Salem has a graduate degree from the Institute of Higher Education - Cairo, Egypt, 1950. He is a specialist in stained glass, pottery, and design.
Salem’s interest in art developed when he was three years old. Since then, he has never considered another way of life. When he was four years old, he did his first drawing, and was so exhilarated and enthralled by expressing himself through an image, that he devoted all the years since then to his art. Being an artist has dictated the direction of his course. Each artwork that he created has a profound meaning for him. His art also employs strong colors to illustrate the rich sensuality and feel of the material. His styles include
Impressionism, Cubism, Decorative, and Realism.
